An eagle, four seals and a blonde

Saturday, February 4, 2012

It was foggy again today, but we got down to the SeaWalk right after breakfast. We were lucky to see an eagle in the tree where they usually hang out. We always look for them but we don’t always see them. We also saw four seals, swimming in groups of two. After our walk we went for coffee at Starbucks. I tried out their new Blonde blend. It isn’t as strong as some of their other offerings, and I enjoyed it. Did you really think from the title that there was a joke coming?

I spent what was left of the morning in my studio finishing up my practice pieces. I did the hand stitching on them while we watched the Canuck game – an early game that they won in a shoot out.

After the game I headed back to my studio and did some cleaning up. I cut the scrap pieces I created with my practice projects into various sizes. My little containers are getting full, but not yet enough for a quilt. By the time that was finished it was too late to start any new sewing, so I rearranged my craft room. I have more room now for my ironing board and my craft table – both seem to be up on a permanent basis and I was getting tired of trying to get around one to get to the other.

My Mystery Quilt is all laid out and I’m ready to start quilting tomorrow. I already have my fingers crossed that it will go well.
