Classically Trained

Pat has been hanging quilts at the cafe where we hold the Texada House Concerts. He also has three other music events happening there in the Spring. In an attempt to keep the crowd from being bored by the same old-same old I made him this wall hanging for Christmas.

I purchased the kit at Quilt Canada in May, pieced it in October with Stacia and Deloise, and finished the binding at the Guild on the last sewing day before Christmas.

For quilting, I stitched around each of the instruments and down the strings, and I used a small meander in the background. I outlined all the piano keys and used a gold thread to cross-hatch the borders.
