Happy Birthday Kathryn

Bows (from the Splendid Sampler series)

I had a lot of trouble with this block. It was meant to be paper-pieced but since some of the pieces were rectangles I decided I didn’t need to use the paper-piecing method for all of it. I didn’t get the proportions right and ended up taking it all apart (except for the part I paper-pieced) and starting over.

I had a particular photo of Kathryn in mind that I was going to post with her card (she’ll be pleased I didn’t find it). Her hair was all in curls and the caption was going to be “What bow would you choose for her hair?”

Christmas cards

I found a pattern in one of Deloise’s magazines and thought I could make use of it for some of my Christmas cards. Once I finished one I couldn’t stop so, in total I made eleven of them!

Can you see your card?

The pattern also makes good gift tags and I added a few more on gifts to my Thursday sewing group.

Quilt Market from the Splendid Sampler 2 series

Hmm – Quilt Market and Dave? Can I make a connection?

Stacia, Deloise and I had a fabulous time at Quilt Market in Houston in 2016.

The University of Houston has a Men’s Lacrosse team although they aren’t in the same league as the Rush. Dave isn’t travelling with the Rush this year but this is the best I can do!

Happy Birthday Dave!

Curves Forever from the Splendid Sampler 2 Series

I usually try to match my cards and their recipient but I’ll admit that I needed a card quickly and this one was ready to go.

I’m stretching here but maybe this year Dylan will be trying some new curves on his scooter!

Happy Birthday Dylan!
