Happy Birthday Stacia

July 17, 2020

I bought this kit at a yard sale and it sat in my cupboard on Texada for a long time. During our recent stay at the studio I realized that I wasn’t going to have time to make my usual fabric card so I went looking or something else. This kit was more or less on the top of the pile.

The cross stitch is done on 18-count fabric (18 stitches to the inch) so it wasn’t a quick project. But I had nothing better to do so I spent a couple of days at it.

When we came home for a day I quickly finished up the card and got it into the mail right on time.

I’ve seen Stacia’s pincushion and she has way way more pins than this one does!

Summer Flip Flopping (bonus block from the Splendid Sampler series)

This was a fun card to make and a perfect pattern for the start of summer.

I used my travelling machine for the appliqué and it worked so much better than my last attempt with my quilting machine. The glue gun worked to hold the buttons and, because it was going into an express envelope, they didn’t add to the postage.

A Trio of Birthday Wishes

Inside Out (for Tynan)
Inside Out (for Ian)
Inside Out (for Josh)

I like multiple birthdays on the same day. I make all the cards the same but with different fabrics; I have some practice in before I get to the last one. I’m not telling who got the first card and who got the last one! The pattern is a bonus block from the Splendid Sampler series.

Happy Birthday to all of you!

Solar Eclipse (bonus block from the Splendid Sampler series)

I don’t make up my own patterns so this block was as close as I could come for someone who has their birthday on the longest day of the year. I can’t tell you where the four moons come from but, as I said, I don’t make up these patterns.
