Showtime

Wednesday, March 27, 2019

We’re all set for the show tonight at the Hall. I peeled potatoes and Pat put together the Shepherd’s Pie for dinner. He’s at the Hall right now getting everything set up and the LynneS will meet him there for a sound check before coming home for supper. They like to eat both before and after the show so Pat made an extra pan of the pie.

I spent the morning quilting some birthday cards so they can get in the mail tomorrow. It helped having the card tops done but it still takes some time to get everything put together.

I’ll do some tidying up and, if I’m lucky, there will time to tackle some of my Hall paperwork.

Some progress

Tuesday, March 26, 2019

It was a long Board meeting last night and I ended up with a few extra items on my to-do list. I guess I must be feeling refreshed as I’m actually looking forward to some of it. We’ll be busy planning for our AGM in May but it looks like we might already have someone to take over the Hall bookings. No wonder I was feeling giddy.

I was off to the bee this morning before our guests were up and about. This was my last day to work on one of my March UFO challenges and I’m pleased with my progress. I wouldn’t have had much to show had I not finished three blocks today. The ones that I have packaged up will go into my Retreat bin and I’ll finish them off there.

I’m not sure what I’ll be up to this evening. The Lynne that is still here is quite content to relax on her own so I’ll probably catch up on some Hall work and get a few birthday gifts ready for the mail. I’m hoping to go across to Texada on Friday and these gifts should have been in the mail last week.

No matter how caught up I am on one thing I’m behind on something else.

I’m ready

Monday, March 25, 2019

Our guests will be arriving any moment now so this will have to be quick. Pat and one of the performers has a concert on Texada tomorrow night and then both of our guests will be performing at Cranberry Hall on Wednesday. A little longer stay than usual but the work before and after is just the same.

We were out the door before seven this morning; Pat and I both were overdue for some blood work at the hospital. On the way home Pat intended to get the groceries but we were too early – the store wasn’t even open yet.

I had a bit more work than I was expecting to prepare for the Board meeting tonight. I forgot that at the last meeting I added Budget to the agenda. I had to prepare a few more financial reports than normal but they are all done.

I’m not sure what my time will be like in the next few days. I plan to go sewing tomorrow and I’ve prepared four more of my Splendid Sampler blocks. This is the last week to get a few done before I have to check in with the UFO Challenge for the month.

I’m back to normal

Sunday, March 24, 2019

I’m back to normal – well as normal as I ever get. I still have piles of paper and a number of things on my to-do list but that doesn’t seem to change much from week to week.

Pat and I worked in the yard again this morning. It is so nice to look out the window and see plants greening up rather than dead leaves and stems. Pat says it is an advantage to be colourblind because brown and green look the same to him. There is still lots of weeding to do but I’ll try to be out on a regular basis and, hopefully, keep it up all summer.

I have the beds ready for our performers who arrive tomorrow on the afternoon ferry. Yesterday I bought a pair of queen sheets (I’d been making do with king sheets) and making the bed is so much nicer now.

While I was clearing out the last bin from the quilt show I put my latest two quilts on the beds. I’m liking the way they look.

I’m off now for a showing at the Hall. I’m really enjoying my evening knitting again.
