I have often made cards with flowers for Wendy’s birthday. Although perhaps not as flowery, I think this one fits in with the theme.

With the exception of the quilting and one side of the binding this card is completely hand stitched. I did a very similar card last year for Laurie, but I cheated and used some larger hexagons that I had from another project. When I realized this was a completely different pattern I decided to make the card as instructed by the designer. I took my colour inspiration from the Colour Wheel I made in France.

I’m not sure why the block is called The Inchy Hexagon Club as each side of those small pieces is just half-an-inch.

Jody deserves an extra special day; not only is it her birthday but it is also Mother’s Day. If memory serves me correctly I think Jody was born on a Mother’s Day,

I picked this pattern for Jody because of its name. I thought a working Mum, with an active child, needs to continually juggle things to keep up. Although some of the corners of this particular ball may be slightly deflated, my best wishes blow it up to twice its size!
