Happy Birthday Madison

Pocket Mug Rug (by Julie Cefalu)

I wanted a cat for Madison’s cup but this was as close as I could come. I had lots of dogs but it wasn’t until after I’d made the card that I found a small square of cat fabric.

The pink accent fabric was also used on Madison’s gym bag so long ago. Of course the pocket was filled with some birthday surprises.

Happy Birthday Emma

Pocket Mug Rug (Julie Cefalu)

Emma turns 18 this year. Where has the time gone.

Music is an important part of Emma’s life so I found some music-related fabric for her background. I’ve made notes on the pattern so the next time I use a directional fabric I’ll cut it properly.

Happy Birthday Gavin

Pocket Mug Rug (by Julie Cefalu)

This isn’t the pattern I had planned for my April cards but when the English paper-pieced hexies didn’t work out I turned to this one. I used it at Christmas and it was relatively easy to make. It seemed appropriate as everyone in April is getting gift cards.

Daisy

Daisy (from Little Handfuls of Scraps by Edyta Sitar) – 12.5″ x 17″

Daisy was the March sewing project with Stacia and Deloise. Made completely from scraps but I’m happy with how it turned out. It feels very spring-like to me and there is lots of green in there for St. Patrick’s Day.
