Happy Birthday Wyatt

The Early Bird (from The Splendid Sampler series)

I took this card to the Island to work on but as I was putting the final pieces together I realized I had made a sewing error and it couldn’t be finished until I came home and found more of the fabric I had used.

The name of this pattern is particularly ironic because there is no way the card will reach Wyatt in time for his birthday.

Stitch Crazy (from The Splendid Sampler series)

Another embroidered card for another special someone!

I’ve never done any redwork although I brought home a few patterns from Houston that are intended to be done as redwork. I don’t think I have the right colour of red yet in my pearl cotton collection so that’s my excuse for not getting at those projects.

I am enjoying the embroidery work; although I still need more practice I think I am improving with each project.

Hearts and Flowers (from The Splendid Sampler series)

This is one of the embroidered cards that I was saving for someone special. The combination of my light box and a Frixion pen meant that even when I didn’t stitch exactly on the lines it wasn’t noticeable. I used perl cotton rather than DMC floss for the first time, and it won’t be the last.

Time was running short so I did an envelope finish for the card without any extra quilting.

Happy Birthday Christy

I’m not starting a trend, but Christy also gets a larger-than-normal card this year.

Christy has never mentioned she particularly liked any of my quilts, but I felt it was time she had one of them. Yes Christy it is that simple; if you like something you just might end up with it! And if you don’t like something you better say so or you might still end up with it.
