Gavin’s card probably won’t get to him in time for his birthday but at least his birthday present will be there (more by way of good luck than good planning on my part).

It is thanks to the magic of Facebook that I was able to reconnect with Diane’s son, Ryan. Of course I was sneaking peeks at what he might be doing when I checked in with his sister, Michelle, but I was thrilled to see a friend request from him a few weeks ago.

In spite of everything that isn’t good about Facebook, thanks to it I’ve connected with many “lost” friends over the years.

You’ve heard the saying, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!”. There is another one that also suits this card, “When life gives you scraps, make a quilt!”

The pink and the green half-square triangles were extras from a project. I had to dig to find yellow for the lemon but there was some hidden in a bin with an unfinished project.
