My nieces celebrated their birthdays on September 4th and I’m a week late getting their cards in the mail.
I really liked this block (from The Splendid Sampler series) and I’ve been saving it for these two birthdays. The tops went together quickly but then I was stalled with health issues.
They will arrive late, but with every good wish intact.

I see this block as a plane. I’m not sure if this plane represents the trips Ron has taken or the trips that he looks forward to. The lines of quilting are meant to keep the plane moving forward in case my aero-dynamics are a bit off.
However Wikipedia describes Flow as “the mental state characterized by complete absorption in what one does” and the loss of the sense of space and time.
Whatever way Ron looks at this, I hope he enjoys his day.
The name of the block doesn’t really lend itself to an August birthday, so I added some fall shades!

I know that Tracie is a quilter so this sewing machine seemed like the right choice for her. I wonder if her machine is this colourful?
