I know Spring has been a long time coming to Saskatoon but hopefully by now the birds are back and the weather forecast doesn’t include any snow.

This block is appropriate for a May birthday. So many trees are in bloom right now – dogwoods, lilacs, wisteria, all kinds of fruit trees. Many of those varieties are flowering in our own yard!

Peggy has a lovely big yard and it always looks well taken care of.

It may be a little late to pass a tulip card on to Wendy for her birthday. The weather has been so warm in our part of the country that the tulips are pretty much done for the year. Even the lilacs are almost done but there is still lots of colour from other flowers out in our yard.

Audrey has had a tough year so far and I wanted something “special” to send to her for her birthday card. Doing embroidery on my cards is about as special as they get.

This was among the first blocks to be released from the Splendid Sampler 2 book. I was determined to keep up with the sew-along since I’d failed miserably in keeping up with the first Splendid Sampler series. Sadly, keeping up lasted for only a few weeks.
