Hello Kitty

Madison also asked if I could make something from the Hello Kitty line; I think it was for Walid’s sister. My initial reaction was no but I thought of an easy solution and went for it.

I found a free colouring page online and used the technique of colouring with embroidery and I think it turned out quite well.

I’ll tuck it into my suitcase when I visit and Madison can pass it along. If it was Walid’s sister who wanted the design I’ll trade her for dance lessons!

Coasters

Madison asked me for some coasters so I made a set of six. Deloise called them my Rainbow Coasters so I’m sticking with that.

Due to the postal strike I’ll be tucking them into my suitcase when I visit.

Farmer’s Daughter Table Runner #2

This is the second project made from left-over blocks from a Cake Mix Recipe that Deloise gave me. The fabric comes from the Farmer’s Daughter line by Moda.

I may be coming to like this paper-doll backing fabric.

The actual quilt from this Recipe is sandwiched and up next for quilting.

A Calamity of Souls

Author: David Baldacci

This book came to me from a fellow quilter. I’ve read the author before so I expected it would be a good one.

The story is set in Virginia in 1968. Emancipation laws have been enacted but they have yet to be fully accepted by the common people. Jack Lee is a small town lawyer who has never tried a murder case. When the maid from the house down the street asks him to defend her grandson-in-law he accepts, knowing it will be a difficult battle for a white lawyer to defend a black man. When Desiree DuBose steps in, a black lawyer with a lot of experience in defending against racism, the two take on the case together.
