We’ve been expecting it, but it was still a shock at seven this morning. The work has begun on the new ferry dock. The crane came by barge a couple of days ago. All the press releases said they would be driving pilings from 7 AM to 7 PM for the rest of the summer.
I heard the pounding this morning and when I looked at the clock it read exactly 7:00. Just a few minutes later the ferry to Texada blew its horn as it pulled away from the dock. And if we weren’t already awake, someone was testing their alarm system – possibly an added feature of the dock improvement!
It’s a good thing I am a morning person!
