When Gail and I decided to make another fabric bowl I knew that I was going to make mine for Elizabeth’s birthday. Elizabeth even has her own bin of daisy fabric in my stash.

This is my second attempt at this pattern and although it is better than the first it still needs some tweaking. I used a lighter fusible interfacing and that worked much better. I had a new glue and it worked better than the messy glue stick I had for the first. It was still very difficult though to sew through the interfacing and the glue; next time, if there is a next time, I’ll glue further away from the edges where I need to sew. It is all hand stitched so my fingers are going to need a rest before attempting again; sewing the top and bottom together involved pliers, a thimble and the edge of my desk to push the need through.

I did the worst job ever of wrapping this gift. I didn’t have any birthday paper so I put everything into a bag and tried to wrap just the bag. That didn’t work very well. I didn’t have a box large enough to hold the bag but I had an empty box that I’d been storing old photos in. I wrapped it all up in a a second layer. By the time I was finished I’m not sure if I had more paper or tape holding it all together.
