There is another storm blowing through our town. We expected heavy rain, which hasn’t really materialized, but we had lots of wind during the night and all day today. Sadly I had to go out in it twice; had I thought a bit further ahead one trip would have sufficed.
I’ll be selling Guild raffle tickets at an event all weekend; I picked up the prizes (for display) a week ago. The woman running the raffle also scheduled a sales table in the mall today so I had to get the prizes back for ten this morning. Since I only have half a table for our display I decided not to bother getting them back; I have a photo of the prizes and that will have to do.
I finished up a card today, as well as got the label, sleeve and binding sewn on the My Crazy Life pieces. I did an embroidered label and it took me longer to re-learn how to store and retrieve phrases in memory than it did for Ruby to stitch them. I’m not sure I like the look of the labels, but since the first piece in the series was done that way I thought these two should be the same. I should have more than enough time tomorrow at the event to get all the hand stitching done.
We will have house guests this weekend; they will be here to sleep on Saturday night after the show and we’ll give them breakfast on Sunday. The fridge was looking rather empty so after lunch I made another trip (in the storm) and picked up a few things. I got the bedroom prepared and did a bit of cleaning; I still need to wipe up some spots on the kitchen floor and I’ll probably have to scrub the laundry room floor. I don’t expect our guests will spend any time in there, but it is where we hang our jackets and I should at least try to make a good first impression.
I sandwiched my 12 Days of Christmas project and was just starting the first square of quilting when friends dropped in for tea. The afternoon was gone before our guests were; I doubt I’ll get back to my machine until Wednesday.
I’ve spent quite a few evenings trying to sort out a new knitting pattern for slippers; I’m almost there so maybe tonight I’ll figure it out and be able to start on the “real” thing. I have three orders for them so the pressure is on! But if that doesn’t work out I printed out a crochet pattern that will use up some scrap yarn.
